Privacy Policy

How BestOnlinePsychiatry.com collects, uses, shares, and protects information from visitors to our independent telehealth psychiatry review site.

Effective Date: September 20, 2026 · Last Updated: September 20, 2026

1. Introduction

BestOnlinePsychiatry.com LLC, a New York limited liability company ("BestOnlinePsychiatry," "we," "us," or "our"), operates the website located at https://bestonlinepsychiatry.com (the "Site"). We publish editorial reviews, rankings, and informational articles about telehealth psychiatry providers and related mental-health services.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors to the Site, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices and rights you have regarding that information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Site. It does not apply to any third-party website, application, or service that you may reach through a link on the Site, including the websites of the telehealth providers we review. Those third parties have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review them before submitting information.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide directly

We collect information you choose to provide, such as:

  • Your name and email address if you sign up for our newsletter or contact us;
  • Feedback, corrections, or other messages you send us; and
  • Any information you choose to include when you communicate with us.

3.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically, including:

  • Device and browser information (browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, language);
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it;
  • Pages viewed, time on page, referring URL, and other browsing activity on the Site;
  • Identifiers stored in cookies, local storage, or similar technologies; and
  • Performance and security data collected by our content-delivery and security provider, Cloudflare.

3.3 Information from third parties

We may receive limited information from analytics, advertising-network, and affiliate-network partners, such as aggregated or hashed identifiers that help measure the performance of our content.

We do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal information beyond what is described above, and we do not ask visitors to disclose information about their health conditions, diagnoses, or treatment.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, to remember your preferences, to measure traffic and engagement, and to support our affiliate-link tracking.

Broad categories of cookies we use or expect to use include:

  • Strictly necessary cookies required for the Site to function and to deliver content securely.
  • Analytics cookies (currently Google Analytics 4) that help us understand how the Site is used in aggregate.
  • Affiliate-tracking cookies set when you click an outbound link to a provider we review, so the provider's affiliate program can attribute the referral to us.
  • Functional cookies that remember settings such as light/dark mode or dismissed banners.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and through opt-out tools provided by analytics and advertising vendors (for example, the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on). Disabling cookies may impair some Site features. We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because no common standard for them has been adopted.

5. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • Produce and improve editorial rankings, reviews, and other content;
  • Send you our newsletter and respond to inquiries you submit;
  • Measure traffic, content performance, and the performance of outbound affiliate links;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use information from the Site to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

6. How We Share Information

We share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use vendors that process information on our behalf, including hosting and content-delivery (Cloudflare), analytics (Google Analytics 4), and — once implemented — email-newsletter delivery . These vendors are contractually limited to processing information for the purposes we direct.
  • Affiliate networks and partners. When you click an outbound link to a provider we review, the affiliate network (such as Impact, FlexOffers, or ShareASale) or the provider's own program (such as Klarity) may receive a referral identifier so the provider can attribute the visit and any subsequent action to us. We do not transmit your name, email, or other directly identifying information to those networks through clicks alone.
  • Legal and safety disclosures. We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BestOnlinePsychiatry, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the receiving party's continued obligation to honor this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some forms of online advertising involve sharing identifiers for cross-context behavioral advertising, which can be considered "sharing" or "selling" under certain US state privacy laws. If we engage in such activity in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide an opt-out mechanism.

7. Your Privacy Rights

7.1 All visitors

You may:

  • Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email or by contacting us at the address in Section 12.
  • Adjust your browser settings to limit cookies.
  • Contact us with questions about your information.

7.2 California residents

Under applicable California privacy law, California residents have rights including:

  • The right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from them;
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information;
  • The right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell personal information for money; see Section 6); and

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12. We will ask you for information sufficient to verify that you are the person to whom the information relates.

7.3 Other US state residents

If you reside in a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or others), you may have rights similar to those described above. We honor verifiable requests to the extent required by applicable state law.

7.4 EU / UK / EEA visitors

If you are visiting from the European Union, United Kingdom, or European Economic Area, applicable data-protection law (including the GDPR and UK GDPR) may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Our legal bases for processing typically include your consent (for example, for non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Site, and compliance with legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. The Site is served over HTTPS, and we rely on Cloudflare for transport security and network protection. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or take steps to de-identify it.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Decisions about psychiatric care for minors should be made by a parent or legal guardian in consultation with a licensed clinician; we do not direct content recommendations to minors, and individuals between 13 and 17 should use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site or communicated by email to newsletter subscribers where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
